What you’ll be doing:
- Greeting members of the public throughout the store and providing information on store products.
- Sincerely and genuinely thanking donors and customers for supporting Goodwill’s mission.
- Placing donations in designated storage area for sorting.
- Understanding and adhering to Goodwill Health and Safety policies, safe work practices and procedures.
- Rotating stock and ensuring the store is presentable.
- Checking the premises for items left overnight and bring them inside.
- Unlocking the donor center and furniture store doors.
- Educating customers about Goodwill’s mission.
- Completing all paperwork as required.
- Using appropriate equipment, personal protective equipment and tools and follow all safety guidelines for equipment and tools.
- Performing all cleaning tasks as listed in prescribed site SOPs.
What you bring to the table:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous customer service experience is an asset.
- Must be 15 years of age or older.
- Must pass a criminal record check.
- Must be eligible to work in Canada.
- Must have sufficient verbal and written command of the English language
- Exceptional customer service skills to interact with donors and members of the public.
- Dependability and reliability is required.
- As this position requires lifting, sorting and moving donations, candidates must be able to regularly lift in excess of 10
kilograms (22 pounds). Basic mathematical and written English skills to maintain reports.
Must be responsible for own transportation to and from work, as well as to and from Goodwill training sessions
