Navigator, Client Services (Community Services Worker Canada Summer Jobs Grant)

Reporting to the Navigator Coordinator, this position is generally the first point of contact between the Society and our clients. This position is responsible for referring clients to services and providing an integral part of reviewing and updating the centralized database to ensure the Society has accurate and relevant information to meet clients, donors, and staff needs. We are seeking one individual in a temporary capacity who is eager to make a difference by utilizing their client service, data entry, problem-solving and communication skills.
This is an opportunity to gain valuable experience while contributing to a team environment.
This position will be responsible for:
Supporting referral intake & ongoing follow up
Participating in the delivery of standardized programs
Providing outreach regarding services and benefits available
Maintaining accurate and objective client records
Assisting in raising public awareness about dementia and the way it affects families and individuals
Reviewing and modifying client accounts for accuracy and consistency based on Society standards
Manually updating Society’s database after consulting with appropriate team members
Other duties and projects that are similar in nature of the position as required.
Qualifications:
Preferred education requirement will include some post‑secondary education in Social Work, Health Services, Human Services, or a related field
Experience working in a customer/client service environment is required
An understanding of Alzheimer’s disease/dementia and care‑partner issues is an asset
Familiar with services and resources needed by seniors and/or persons living with disabilities
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Demonstrated interpersonal and problem‑solving skills
Ability to remain professional and respectful in difficult and sensitive situations
Experience using MS Office 365
Experience working in a database or with data entry is considered an asset.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy
Flexible and adaptable
Recent and clear vulnerable sector check.
As part of the Summer Job Grant this position requires the applicant:
To be between 15 and 30 years of age (inclusive) at the start of employment.
To be a Canadian Citizen, permanent resident, or person on whom refuges protection has been conferred under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act, S.C. 2001, c.27.
To be able to legally entitled to work according to the relevant provincial legislation.
Working conditions:
This position is full time in office for the term of the contract (temporary position from May 16 – August 28, 2026).
35 hours per week, Monday – Friday 8:30 am – 4:30 pm, with occasional planned evenings and weekends.
Salary: $23.00 / hour + 4% vacation paid semimonthly.
