As a Family School Liaison Social Worker, you will support pre-kindergarten to Grade 12 students and their families, addressing their social, emotional, and academic needs. This temporary position requires conducting assessments, developing action plans, and collaborating with multi-disciplinary teams to foster improved student outcomes. Your contributions will enhance attendance and reduce behavioral issues while promoting a supportive and inclusive educational environment.
Key Responsibilities:
• Conduct individualized assessments with parents and school staff
• Provide counselling and group facilitation for families
• Monitor and document support effectiveness
• Collaborate with educational support teams and specialists
• Develop and promote Family Oriented Programs
Requirements:
• Degree in social work with 3 years of experience
• Registration with Alberta College of Social Workers
• Knowledge of community agencies and child development
• Understanding of special needs and emotional disorders
• Strong mediation and crisis management skills
