Job Type: casual
Location: WABASCA, AB

• Ensure the safety and well‑being of all shelter residents
• Conduct client intake and orientation, including coordinating sleeping arrangements
• Provide crisis intervention, de‑escalation, and conflict resolution as needed
• Assist with meal distribution and perform general housekeeping / sanitation duties during shifts
• Maintain accurate daily logs, including incident reports and client documentation
• Offer referrals to mental health, addiction, social, and community support services
• Support a trauma‑informed, culturally respectful, and non‑judgmental shelter environment
• Other duties as requested

• Strong communication, interpersonal, and problem‑solving skills
• Empathy, patience, and a non‑judgmental approach
• Ability to remain calm and professional in high‑stress or crisis situations
• Understanding of trauma‑informed care practices
• Ability to work on a rotating schedule
• Effective teamwork and collaboration skills

• Grade 12 education preferred
• Experience working with vulnerable populations, such as individuals facing homelessness, addiction, or mental health challenges is an asset
• Experience working in shelters, residential programs, outreach, or crisis settings is an asset
• Certifications in First Aid/CPR, Non‑Violent Crisis Intervention (NVCI), Harm Reduction Training, Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training (ASIST), and Naloxone training is an asset

Salary is dependent on qualifications.
