Community Disability Worker

Position: Full-Time Community Disability Worker
Empower individuals with developmental disabilities as a Community Disability Worker at Catholic Social Services in Edmonton. Provide client-centered care on weekends while shaping supportive environments.

This full-time role involves 16 hours per week, focusing on behavior management and communication strategies.

You'll work with those who have complex needs, implementing behavior support plans to foster coping skills and community engagement. Being innovative and attentive will be key as you help create meaningful experiences in their lives.

Key Responsibilities:

• Implement behavior support plans for individuals in need

• Build supportive relationships through effective communication

• Assist clients in accessing community resources and opportunities

• Foster a safe and engaging home environment

• Encourage clients to develop self-regulation skills

Requirements:

• High school diploma required;
Human Services degree is a plus

• Minimum 1 year experience with developmental disabilities

• NVCI training must be completed upon hire

• Vulnerable Sector Check and Child Intervention Check required

• Willingness to learn physical hold techniques
