Join Big Brothers Big Sisters in Edmonton as a Youth Mentor. Mentor youth in care by creating fun and engaging experiences that help them feel valued and supported.
You will work with at-risk youth through the Youth in Care program, allowing them to express themselves and build confidence. Committing to mentoring for at least one year involves regular meetings, where you can explore hobbies or simply enjoy quality time together. Your presence can provide them with hope and a sense of stability.
Key Responsibilities:
• Mentor youth residing in foster homes or group placements
• Meet regularly to partake in diverse activities
• Foster a healthy, reliable relationship over time
• Complete the required screening and training
• Contribute positively to their personal growth
Requirements:
• Minimum age of 18 years
• Police and child welfare checks required
• Attend a screening interview and training seminar
• Obtain an Alberta Mentoring Partnership Certificate
• Hold a valid Driver's License
