AdaptAbilities Disability Support Specialist

Become part of Adapt Abilities and serve as a Disability Support Specialist in Edmonton, AB. This full-time role focuses on supporting children and youth while creating meaningful experiences in their lives.

As a Respite/Disability Worker under the Community Connect Program, you will be essential in providing compassionate care and support. The emphasis is placed on fostering relationships, individualized goal-setting, and implementing engaging activities. Your attentive communication with participants, families, and co-workers will enhance community inclusivity.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide enhanced care and thoughtful support daily

• Foster genuine connections that promote personal dignity

• Support participants in achieving meaningful daily goals

• Communicate collaboratively with team members

• Ensure compliance with policies during emergency processes

Requirements:

• High School Diploma and little work-related experience

• Clear Police Information Check upon hire

• First Aid Certification CPR Level C is essential

• Non-Violent Crisis Intervention knowledge is beneficial
