The Community Development Manager will provide onsite assistance and develop group programming for residents facing mental health challenges and addictions. At VHC, you will collaborate with external support workers and community partners to ensure tenants thrive in their living environment. This full-time hybrid position allows for office presence with some remote flexibility while requiring a commitment to improving the lives of homeless veterans.
Key Responsibilities:
• Develop trauma-informed programming tailored to tenant needs
• Create educational resources on tenancy and safety practices
• Facilitate mental health understanding and support among tenants
• Foster a supportive community for skill sharing and personal growth
• Assist in crisis navigation and mental health interventions
Requirements:
• Degree or Diploma in Social Work or Community Development
• Experience in social services with marginalized individuals
• Background in supportive housing and recovery principles
• Bilingual (English/French) preferred
• Strong communication and planning abilities
