Critical Mentor Male Youth

Position: Critical Mentor for Male Youth
Crystal Kids Youth Centre is hiring a Boys Critical Mentor to support and guide young males in Edmonton. This impactful position requires adept crisis intervention and strong mentoring skills.

As a Boys Critical Mentor, you'll work with at-risk youth, ages 6-19, utilizing relational and trauma-informed care methods. Candidates should hold a relevant diploma or degree and possess at least one year of experience in youth settings. Proficiency in assessing needs and cultivating coping strategies is essential to help these boys navigate their challenges effectively.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide trauma-informed mentoring and relational care

• Assist youth in developing emotional and behavioral regulation

• Facilitate literacy, numeracy, and life skills programs

• Collaborate with youth on personal development and safety plans

• Help prepare meals on rotating shifts for youth activities

Requirements:

• Degree or diploma in Child and Youth Care, Social Work, or related

• Minimum 1 year experience supporting youth clients aged 6-18

• Strong conflict resolution, assessment, and crisis intervention skills

• Excellent communication and team collaboration skills

• CPR First Aid Intermediate Level C with AED
