Take a new program from paper to a place young adults love coming to.

Chimo's new Youth in Transition (YIT) Program is a hub for young adults aged 18 to 24 leaving government care: a weekly menu of drop-in sessions on everything from housing and money to healthy relationships, mental health and harm reduction, culture and careers, with food, a warm welcome and a help desk six days a week. Group programming opens in December, and we need someone to lead it.

What

you'll do

Build the weekly session calendar and make sure every session happens, staffed by familiar faces
Supervise and coach a team of Program Facilitators, each with their own area of expertise
Bring in Elders, Knowledge Keepers, guest speakers and partners to make sessions rich and relevant
Keep the program on track, from attendance records and budgets to reporting

What you bring

A diploma or degree in Child and Youth Care, Social Work, or a related human services field
At least two years in the field, including planning and leading group programs for youth or young adults
Supervisory experience
Strong organization, and a plan B for when Saturday afternoon goes sideways

Good to know:

You'll need a clear Intervention Record and Police Information (Vulnerable Sector) checks. We provide the training you'll need before you start working with young adults.

This role involves driving, so you'll need

to be at least 22 years of age.
A valid Class 5 driver’s license
to provide proven experience as a Driver (minimum 3 years driving and insurance history).
to provide current auto insurance with $2 million liability and business use coverage with no at-fault accident claims in the past 3 years.
to be eligibility for fleet insurance approval (driver's abstract must not have more than 2 convictions).
