Medically Detox Crisis Worker

Apply crisis intervention and de-escalation skills as a Crisis Worker supporting clients in George Spady Society’s Medically Supported Detox Program. Evening and overnight hours are central.

This Crisis Worker provides trauma-informed, person-centered mental health support during acute distress, crises, and emotional dysregulation. The position supports clients with co-occurring substance use and mental health challenges. It also helps maintain continuity of care alongside nursing and clinical staff.

• Provide immediate crisis intervention and emotional support
• Use de-escalation techniques during mental health crises
• Accompany clients to hospitals or emergency services
• Document incidents, interventions, and client interactions clearly
• Participate in safety planning and care coordination

• Diploma or degree in Human Services, Social Work, or Psychology
• Minimum one year supporting individuals with complex needs
• Experience in crisis intervention, de-escalation, and mental health support
• Understanding of harm reduction and trauma-informed care
• Police Information Check and Vulnerable Sector Check required
