Software Developer, Backend Developer, Software Engineer

We are looking for a Software Developer to join a high-performing team building and enhancing a sophisticated SaaS platform in Edmonton, Alberta. You will contribute to the ongoing growth of a product used by organizations in a range of sectors while helping maintain strong engineering standards across the development lifecycle.

Responsibilities:

• Design and refine core platform features and technical solutions that support performance, scalability, and long-term maintainability.

• Partner with product and engineering stakeholders to translate business goals into practical development plans and future-focused technical approaches.

• Provide guidance to less experienced developers by sharing knowledge, reviewing code thoughtfully, and promoting sound engineering practices.

• Develop, test, and improve application code with a focus on readability, reliability, and sustainable software quality.

• Investigate challenging application defects, resolve production issues efficiently, and assist with high-priority support needs when required.

• Take an active role in agile planning, team discussions, and continuous improvement efforts that strengthen delivery processes.

• Work closely with quality assurance activities to help ensure releases meet functional and performance expectations.

• Assist with occasional after-hours support or maintenance work to help keep the platform stable and available.

• Contribute to architectural decisions involving APIs, databases, cloud services, and deployment tooling across the platform environment.
