Responsibilities Load and unload goods.
Operate and drive straight or articulated trucks to transport goods and materials.
Oversee condition of vehicle; inspect tires, lights, brakes, cold storage and other equipment.
Pay and receive payments for goods.
Perform brake adjustments and emergency roadside repairs.
Conduct pre‑trip, en‑route and post‑trip inspections and oversee all aspects of the vehicle.
Perform preventive maintenance.
Receive and relay information to central dispatch.
Record cargo information, hours of service, distance travelled and fuel consumption.
Tarp goods and ensure safety and security of cargo.
Transport and handle dangerous goods.
Qualifications
Education:
Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
Will train.
Experience:
Will train.
Certificates, Licences & Courses Air Brake (Z) Endorsement.
Driver's License (Class 1 or
A).
Documentation Knowledge Accident or incident reports.
Bill of lading.
Driver logbook.
Inspection report (pre-trip, en-route and post-trip).
Maintenance and repair reports.
Trip reports.
Work Conditions &
Physical Requirements Attention to detail.
Handling heavy loads; large workload; physically demanding.
Weight handling: up to 23kg (50lb).
Green job: duties that lead to positive environmental outcomes.
