Opportunity

Lifting Solutions Inc. is currently recruiting for a Rod Transport + Repair Unit Operator (RTR) to join our Field Services team. This is a camp-based position located in Wabasca, Alberta, working a 14-on, 7-off rotation. Lodging and meals are provided. Success in this role requires a valid Class 3 or Class 1 driver’s license in good standing to operate our 5-ton truck.

Previous oil and gas experience is considered a strong asset.

Your Responsibilities

In alignment with the Lifting Solutions culture, mission, vision, and values, you will be responsible for:

  • Operate RTR service truck units and oversee all tasks performed during well servicing operations.
  • Handle continuous rod properly to reduce risk exposure and protect product integrity for downhole performance.
  • Manage operating expenses for RTR service units, the doghouse, and the crew truck.
  • Perform all required preventive maintenance checks, inspections, and related tasks.
  • Plan and coordinate RTR operations to support safe, efficient service delivery at the wellsite.
  • Maintain RTR operations logs, driver logbooks, trip inspection reports, and monthly fuel records in accordance with company and regional requirements.
  • Report equipment or procedural deficiencies promptly and follow up to support timely resolution.
  • Troubleshoot issues with mobile equipment or field service operations and take corrective action to minimize downtime and control costs.
  • Support shift scheduling, training and competency development for assigned crew.
  • Supervise, coach, and mentor trainees or assistants as required during field operations.
Your Qualifications and Experience
  • Valid Class 3 or Class 1 driver’s license with air brake endorsement and a clean driver’s abstract.
  • Valid industry training certificates, or the ability to obtain them, including but not limited to H2S Alive and Standard First Aid/CPR.
  • Minimum one year of experience in the oil and gas well servicing industry.
  • Experience specializing in continuous rod handling is considered an asset.

Working Conditions and

Physical Requirements
  • Regular exposure to elevated noise levels in field and yard environments.
  • Required to stand for extended periods.
  • Frequent lifting and/or carrying of objects weighing 25 pounds or more.
  • May be required to perform repetitive tasks with limited breaks.
  • Stamina and strength to work long hours, sometimes in adverse weather conditions.
