Truck driver

Education and Experience

• Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
• Will train for required driving and safety procedures

• Various locations

• Load and unload goods
• Operate and drive straight or articulated trucks to transport goods and materials
• Oversee vehicle condition and inspect tires, lights, brakes, cold storage and other equipment
• Pay and receive payments for goods
• Perform pre‑trip, en‑route and post‑trip inspections and oversee all aspects of vehicle maintenance
• Perform preventive maintenance
• Receive and relay information to central dispatch
• Record cargo information, hours of service, distance travelled and fuel consumption
• Tarp goods and ensure safety and security of cargo
• Maintain documentation knowledge

• Accident or incident reports
• Driver logbook
• Inspection reports (pre‑trip, en‑route, post‑trip)

• Tractor‑trailer trucks
• Transportation/travel experience required (international, long‑haul, national)

• Attention to detail
• Weight handling: up to 23 kg (50 lbs)
