Dedicated - CNG Class 1 Driver
Our Regional Alberta team is hiring a Primary driver for our Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) truck. The driver will be fully trained and certified and will take on the primary driver duties. This dedicated assignment will require flexibility and consists of a variety of assignments that fit routes and clean energy filling stations. The assignment will include a variety of Super B and single loads with liquid, dry bulk, and flat deck and the majority of miles being overnight highway miles.
There will be minimal city driving for this role. The ideal candidate is curious and excited about shaping the future, advanced technology and ways to minimize the Kleysen environmental footprint.
This assignment is targeted to commence as soon as possible and may be adjusted based on when the training is completed.
Key Details- Successful driver must complete CNG certification training prior to driving the truck.
- Scheduling will vary based on loads in proximity to clean energy filling stations and compliance with all other regulations. Two days off in a row and as close to the weekend as possible will be attempted.
- Predominantly highway miles in Alberta, with some work in British Columbia and Saskatchewan, and may adjust as clean energy filling stations are added.
- Drivers may need to track key metrics every day such as fuel consumption, reaction on the roads, reaction on hills, braking, etc.
- This is an assigned and dedicated highway truck.
- Operate a primary CNG truck, including loading and unloading Super B and single loads.
- Drive mainly on highway overnight routes with occasional city and regional work.
- Track and report daily key metrics (fuel consumption, braking, etc.).
- Maintain clean and safe vehicle condition, performing or reporting preventive maintenance.
- Work 10–12 hour shifts any day of the week, with two consecutive days off per week.
- Minimum of 24 months Class 1 Tractor Trailer driving experience in Canada.
- Previous liquid and deck experience is required; dry bulk a plus.
- Experience hauling Super B’s.
- Ability to drive manual transmissions.
- Availability to work any day of the week, 10–12 hour shifts with possible overtime.
- Ability to wear all standard PPE (safety boots, CSA approved hard hat, safety vest, etc.).
- Clean shaven or willingness to shave (respirators are mandatory).
- Great attitude, safety minded and customer service oriented.
- Ability to adjust work schedules based on load availability and route planning around filling stations.
- Detail oriented and able to track data consistently and accurately.
- Mechanically inclined and able to solve problems while on the road.
- Income range of $95,000 to $105,000, with potential to earn more.
