Summary:
We are seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Shipping & Receiving Coordinator to join our growing manufacturing team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for coordinating inbound and outbound shipments, maintaining accurate inventory and shipping records, and ensuring products are received, packaged, and shipped safely and efficiently. This role requires strong organizational and communication skills, forklift experience, attention to detail, and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced warehouse environment.
The successful candidate will work collaboratively with internal teams, carriers, and customers while maintaining compliance with company procedures and safety standards.
Process all required paperwork and maintain adequate records for reporting and tracking.
Maintain internal record-keeping systems.
Operate a forklift and handle long material
Prepare and schedule shipments as assigned.
Schedule daily transportation needs with different carriers/couriers across Canada and USA
Oversee the secure and accurate loading and unloading of deliveries.
Manage inventory of shipping materials and supplies.
Perform quality audits of the condition of shipped goods for both incoming and outgoing items prior to signing off.
Follow current standards and procedures.
Ensure that shipments contain proper documentation and if multiple items per shipment, ensure item lists are complete.
Problem-solve for any causes of missing documents, shipments, and deliveries.
Performs all duties in accordance with Alberta Occupational Health and Safety Act, Regulations, and Code.
Determine method of shipment and prepare bills, invoices and other shipping documents. Request daily quotes.
Answer emails and telephone calls as well as in-person requests for products and orders.
Assemble containers and crates, pack goods to be shipped, and prepare identifying information and shipping instructions.
Oversee loading and unloading of goods from trucks, etc.
Inspect and verify incoming goods against invoices or other documents, record shortages and reject damaged goods.
Unpack and route goods to appropriate storage areas.
Role Requirements
At least 1 year experience in shipping and receiving in a warehouse environment is preferred.
Must have a current and valid Forklift License
Ability to lift, move, or carry heavy equipment or materials (up to 75 lbs).
Steel toe shoes or boots are required.
Strong communication skills
Well-organized, able to multitask but also attentive to detail.
Ability to use standard e-mail applications and internet based programs at an intermediate level.
Ability to think quickly and resolve issues.
Knowledgeable in shipping management and transaction software, as well as MS Office is an asset.
Must be a self-starter and willing to take the initiative, solve problems, be able and willing to work without direct supervision.
Punctuality and great attendance are required.
Ability to operate forklift is required.
Excellent organizational skills
