Design safer student transportation routes with Bus Planner and spatial mapping expertise at Edmonton Public Schools in Edmonton. Support reliable service across an assigned geographic area.
As a Planning Technician, you will modify yellow bus routes and support schools, parents, and bus contractors. Your work includes geographic routing software, digitized map data, ETS adequacy assessments, and route documentation. You will apply division criteria and provincial transportation regulations while resolving operational issues.
Key Responsibilities:- Design and modify yellow bus routes using specialized routing software
- Maintain roads, stops, walk areas, and student assignment data
- Assess fixed routes and Edmonton Transit Service adequacy
- Consult stakeholders about routing and safety issues
- Update documentation on the Bus Planner web portal
- Certificate in planning, geography, technology, or related field
- Minimum one year related planning or transportation experience
- Proficiency with Bus Planner and spatial data management
- Knowledge of regulations and division criteria
- Excellent communication, writing, and organizational skills
