Job Description

This role involves safely operating a sit-down forklift to load and unload trailers and handle a variety of material handling tasks in a quiet, safety-focused warehouse that stores and distributes construction products. The position requires regular heavy lifting, accurate order handling, and careful documentation of product locations.

Responsibilities

• Operate a sit-down forklift to load and unload trailers of product efficiently and safely.
• Perform manual material handling, including hand-bombing and heavy lifting of up to 50 lbs when needed.
• Read and interpret orders accurately to ensure correct products are picked and moved.
• Record and update product locations clearly and accurately on bills of lading or related documentation.
• Assist with packing, picking, shipping, and receiving activities as part of daily warehouse operations.
• Use RF scanners, when available, to track and manage inventory and product movement.
• Follow all safety procedures and maintain a clean, organized work area.
• Collaborate with team members and communicate effectively to ensure smooth night-shift operations.

Essential Skills

• Minimum 2+ years of experience operating a sit-down forklift.
• Valid third-party forklift certification.
• Proven experience in material handling within a warehouse or similar environment.
• Ability to load and unload trailers safely and efficiently.
• Experience in shipping and receiving, including handling bills of lading and related documentation.
• Ability to perform general labor tasks, including packing and picking.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety.
• Ability to work night shifts consistently (Sunday to Thursday, 11:00 . to 7:00 .
• Ability to use or learn RF scanners for inventory and order processing.
• Reliable access to and use of personal protective equipment, including steel-toe boots, safety vest, and safety glasses.

Work Environment

You work night shifts from Sunday to Thursday, 11:00 . to 7:00 ., with a night shift premium.

The environment involves regular use of sit-down forklifts, material handling equipment, and RF scanners.

The work includes loading and unloading trailers, general warehouse duties, and handling products that may require heavy lifting.

The facility maintains a safety-oriented culture, and you are expected to wear appropriate personal protective equipment, including steel-toe boots, a safety vest, and safety glasses, which you must provide yourself.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Edmonton, AB.

The pay range for this position is $21.25 - $21.25/hr.

This is a fully onsite position in Edmonton,AB.
