Responsibilities
- Ensures technicians follow all safety procedures appropriately
- Assists in scheduling the Environmental Monitoring Program (EMP) activities in the environmental database
- Conducts environmental sampling to meet EMP requirements
- Assists in applying for a permit for all drilling, land clearing, etc., projects as required; track issuance and close out of permits
- Assists in maintaining comprehensive master files of all environmental data and operational records
- Assists in the compilation and evaluation of data, including preparation and submission of internal and regulatory reports
- Assists the Environmental Supervisor with special projects
- Assists with developing and delivering environmental training
- Oversees equipment calibration and maintenance in the Environment Group
- Assists in operating the hazardous waste lay down and waste disposal facilities
- Prepares and submits reports
- Assists the Environmental Supervisor in issuance, investigation, and follow-up of environmental non-conformances
- An Environmental Technician Diploma or equivalent work experience
- Valid Class 5 or Class 5 Northern Restricted drivers license is required
- Several years of environmental experience in the mining field (preferably uranium) is an asset
- Training in sampling techniques, equipment operation, and calibration
- Must have good writing skills, as well as experience using databases, Word, Excel, and Power Point
- McClean Lake
- 14 day in/ 14 day out rotating schedule
- Normally an 11 hour work day, although some activity outside of normal working hours may be required
- Must be physically fit (must be capable of sustained physical activity including: walking, climbing, and lifting)
- Experience operating snow machines, boats, and all-terrain vehicles is an asset
- Able to work outdoors in all weather conditions
