The Community Peace Officer, reporting to the Peace Officer Sergeant, plays a vital role within the Protective Services Department. This position is focused on educating the public about local bylaws and enforcing compliance. Ideal candidates should have strong communication skills and an ethical approach to community interactions, promoting safety through proactive enforcement.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct effective patrols and investigate related complaints

• Enforce bylaws and issue tickets as necessary

• Engage with the public for inquiries and support

• Assist in managing county-owned facilities and land

• Collaborate with other departments when needed

Requirements:

• High school diploma; post-secondary preferred

• Valid certification from Community Peace Officer Induction Program

• Experience in law enforcement or customer service

• Ability to manage difficult situations

• Must possess a valid Alberta operator’s license
