Roll Off Driver

Job Overview

GFL Environmental is looking for a Roll‑off Driver to join our team in Edson, AB. The position is based out of Edson but will service surrounding areas including Hinton.

• Valid commercial driver’s license (Class1 preferred)
• Valid first aid and H2S Alive ticket preferred
• Demonstrated ability to safely drive the truck and operate equipment
• Valid work authorization in the country where the job is located (GFL does not provide visa sponsorship)

• Operate vehicle(s) with automatic and standard transmission and collect solid waste, yard waste and/or recyclables on a route that may vary daily.
• Complete pre‑trip and post‑trip safety inspections, daily truck reports, route sheets and other documentation as requested by supervisor.
• Operate truck and equipment using prescribed techniques to eliminate driver‑induced mechanical failures.
• Follow all safety standards, equipment checks and precautions in performance of all duties.
• Comply with all federal, provincial, local and company safety rules and vehicle operation regulations.
• Maintain accurate records of services performed.
• Complete route observations on all routes on a predetermined basis, document findings and provide reports to immediate supervisor.

• Knowledge of truck and its components and basic maintenance requirements for safe operation.
• Ability to control equipment operations and maneuver truck into and out of minimum clearance spaces, using mirrors to back distances of approximately 120 feet.
• Ability to exert muscular force to lift, push, pull or carry objects up to 50 pounds repetitively using proper lifting techniques.
