Our enterprise-level client is seeking to add twenty (20) Cabling Production Technicians to the team in North Edwardsville, IL. This is a 2+ month contract with short extensions possible depending on the final date of the project.
Base pay range$23.00/hr - $24.00/hr
Job Details- Location:
Onsite in North Edwardsville, IL 62025 - Shifts:
6:00 AM – 2:30 PM or 2:30 PM – 11:00 PM - Project timeline:
Start Monday 9/15, end Friday 11/14 or later - Contract type: 2+ month contract with possible extensions
- Overtime:
Must be open to OT; two hours added to the beginning or end of a shift - Boots:
Steel-Toe boots required (not provided by client) - Drug & Background check required
- Pay Rate: $24 W2 per hour
Performs tasks related to building and cabling racks and cabinets. Basic installation of equipment in racking, demonstrating the ability to follow rack elevation documentation. Ability to perform tasks with no supervision or training. Will need to validate the physical and systematic processing of material while being able to record quality transactions representing work as well as physical audit of equipment and accessories.
This position reports to a Production Supervisor.
- Install and integrate equipment per build specifications into network, server racks and/or Telecom racks and cabinets
- Addition or removal of non-powered or passive equipment
- Knowledge on the proper use of manual and power tools
- Troubleshoot installation of hardware
- Perform labeling based on customer requirements
- Create and apply device and cable labels for a wide variety of equipment
- Read and understand wiring diagrams and installation instructions
- Read engineering drawings such as rack elevations and cable run list schematics, detailing all in-track connections (Example: power, data networking and storage)
- Route and manage advanced, end-to-end copper, fiber cables, and power runs (AC and/or DC Power - Where applicable)
- Working knowledge and application of AC and/or DC Power - Where applicable
- Perform cable management and connect devices (power and logical connections where applicable)
- Complete and submit paperwork (forms, checklists, etc.) according to company policies and procedures
- Troubleshoot and fix complex errors across multiple platforms of work
- Ensure compliance with established codes, regulations and standards
- Execute work to customer-defined requirements
- Complete physical audit of equipment and accessories
- Confirm hardware is functional and troubleshoot as pertain to work performed
- Ability to train other team members on the above tasks in accordance with the highest standards.
- Ability to flex into other areas easily with minimal guidance; including configuration
- Actively involved in making processes more effective and efficient via new ideas and feedback for current obstacles and new initiatives
- Works on and adapts to new builds
- Education:
High School/GED - A combination of education, training, and experience may be considered in lieu of a degree
- A minimum of 2 years progressive experience in a related field.
