The Assistant Director of Student Involvement provides leadership, infrastructure development, and strategic support to ensure a thriving and sustainable student organization ecosystem s role leads the development and delivery of comprehensive training, onboarding, policies, and resource systems that equip student leaders and advisors with the knowledge, skills, and tools needed for effective organizational operations. As a primary administrator for the student organization management platform, the Assistant Director builds and manages the University’s online involvement hub, including campus-wide implementation, training, and user support.

The role also manages certain departmental budgets, accounts, and expenditures related to student organization programming, travel, and fundraising. The Assistant Director advises assigned student organizations or governing boards and provides advisor-level support to student organizations as needed. This position strengthens organizational capacity, enhances student involvement and belonging, and elevates the visibility and impact of student organizations across campus.

What You Will Do

  • Provide leadership, infrastructure development, and strategic support to maintain a thriving and sustainable student organization ecosystem.
  • Develop and deliver comprehensive training, onboarding, policies, processes, and resource systems for student leaders and advisors, including Handbooks and Manuals.
  • Serve as a primary administrator for the student organization management platform, building and managing the University’s online involvement hub and providing campus-wide training and support.
  • Manage departmental budgets, accounts, and expenditures related to student organization programming, travel, and fundraising.
  • Advise assigned student organizations or governing boards and provide advisor-level support as needed.
  • Lead and coordinate student organization communication, recognition, and events; including newsletters, Involvement Fairs, Student Leader Luncheons, Leaders and Luminaries, and more.
  • Collaborate with partners across campus on student organization operations and initiatives, as well as serving on committees and working groups to support student involvement.
  • Strengthen organizational capacity, enhance student involvement and belonging, and elevate the visibility and impact of student organizations across campus.

FLSA:
Exempt

Minimum Acceptable Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • A total of one (1) year (12 months) in education, training and/or work experience in the area of specialization inherent to the position. (

    Note:

    Master’s Degree in an area consistent with the duties of the position may be substituted for one (1) year of work experience.)

AND

  • 2+ additional years of higher education/academic/nonprofit/business administrative experience (years can be concurrent with above)
