Salary Range or Pay Grade: $48,000-$52,000 per year

Description

The successful candidate will primarily teach courses in the Exercise Science Program and will be the Field Experience Coordinator for students in our Sterngth and Conditioning emphasis area and the Internship Coordinator for all other students. This individual will be responsible for student field experience placement, field experience site evaluation and regular communication with the Field Experience/Internship Site Supervisors.

Responsibilities include assisting with curriculum development, teaching undergraduate courses, and mentoring students towards the Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) certification. Teaching assignments may include online synchronous and asynchronous and in-person undergraduate courses. Summer assignments may be available, depending upon enrollment and funding.

Responsibilities
  • Teach courses in the Exercise Science Program (including undergraduate courses) and participate in curriculum development.
  • Serve as Field Experience Coordinator for students in the Sterngth and Conditioning emphasis area and as Internship Coordinator for all other students.
  • Manage student field experience placement, site evaluation, and maintain regular communication with Field Experience/Internship Site Supervisors.
  • Mentor students toward the Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) certification.
  • Contribute to online and in-person teaching as assigned (online synchronous, asynchronous, and on-campus).
  • Assist with summer teaching assignments if enrollment and funding allow.
  • Collaborate with program faculty to support student success and program goals.
Qualifications
  • Master's degree with a specialization in exercise physiology or a related field.
  • Teaching experience in exercise physiology or related field in higher education.
  • Must possess the CSCS certification through the NSCA or be willing to obtain by January 2026.
  • Preferred: ability to teach traditional and online courses related to exercise science, exercise physiology, and strength and conditioning.
  • Two years of professional experience in Exercise Science, Cardiac Rehabilitation, Strength and Conditioning, or related field.
  • Good interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with students, colleagues, and community members.
