WhatYou Will Do
- The Assistant Director of Pathways and Credentialing leads the design, coordination, and expansion of alternative digital credentials (ADCs), non‑credit programs, workforce development, and community‑based learning initiatives across SIUE's extended sites in Alton, Belleville, East St. Louis, and Edwardsville.
- This position is central to advancing the university's commitment to workforce‑aligned, accessible learning by developing short‑form credentials and community‑relevant courses that reach diverse learners.
- Reporting to the Director of Online Services and Educational Outreach and supported by office staff, the Assistant Director will ensure all offerings are industry‑responsive, equity‑minded, and strategically aligned with institutional goals for access, innovation, and impact.
- Bachelor's degree.
- A total of three (3) years (36 months) in education, training and/or work experience in the area of specialization inherent to the position. (
Note:
Master's Degree in an area consistent with the duties of the position may be substituted for one (1) year of work experience.) - Based on position requirements, additional education, training, and/or work experience in the area of specialization inherent to the position, may be required.
AND
- Bachelor's degree in education, workforce development, continuing education or related field.
- Certified Workforce Development Professional within the first year of employment.
- Master's degree in education, workforce development, social work, public administration, or related field.
- Experience working in higher education, especially in non‑traditional or adult learner contexts.
- Knowledge of labor market analytics and workforce training initiatives.
- Experience managing part‑time staff, contractors, or instructional talent.
- Ability to work across diverse communities and navigate institutional structures to get projects off the ground.
