7:30 AM – 4:30 PM (subject to management’s discretion) and some work outside of these time frames.
The Senior Employee Benefits Coordinator is responsible for, but not limited to the following:
The successful applicant may be involved in all facets of Employee Benefits functions. Responsibilities may include coordinating employee benefits processes and compliance for employee benefits program, compiling information for government reports, auditing various data, managing annual projects, assisting with employee benefits open enrollment, reviewing contracts, assisting with carrier implementations, assisting employees with questions in person and via phone and/or email.
Key Responsibilities- Coordinating ERISA, ACA and DOL compliance for benefit plans
- Assisting Employee Benefits Supervisor with annual compliance reporting such as 1095-C, SAR, 5500 and W2.
- Assisting with employee benefit invoices
- Assisting with and backing up leave process as needed
- Texas Wages for Unemployment Requests
- Weekly New Hire Audit
- HSA Employer Funding Files
- Assisting with Open Enrollment
- 3+ years of dedicated employee benefit experience
- Previous experience with employee benefit plan compliance including ACA, ERISA, COBRA, and IRS Section 125
- Strong knowledge and understanding of insurance benefits such as medical, dental, vision, life insurance, disability insurance, Flexible Spending Accounts (FSA), and Health Savings Accounts (HSA).
- Experience with HRIS and payroll systems
- Must possess a high level of integrity and the ability to discreetly handle sensitive and confidential employee, and business information at all times.
- Ability to work without direct supervision.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- High School Diploma, or equivalent.
- Maintain reliable attendance and consistent work hours.

- Excellent interpersonal and conflict resolution skills.
- Coachable and willing to learn.
- Must be able to read and write English and perform basic math calculations.
- Effective time management skills to achieve results through prioritizing demands.
- Demonstrates critical thinking skills and effective decision-making skills.
- Strong Excel skills including, but not limited to, creating and formatting spreadsheets, using formulas and functions to manage large datasets (IF, SUM, INDEX, MATCH, VLOOKUP), and create charts/graphs
- This position will require the ability to travel for multiple days, travel is estimated at 5%, or less.
- The employee will be required to sit and stand for long periods of time, to stoop, bend, and reach above the head and below the knees to file and retrieve data.
