Production Supervisor - L3 - 1st Shift - NAIC3
Production Supervisors are responsible for directly overseeing a team of associates and/or technicians who are accountable for meeting customer demands. They set and delegate day‑to‑day tasks to achieve operational objectives, develop and coach team members, schedule resources to meet deadlines, and monitor production and quality to meet and exceed performance expectations.
A Brief OverviewThe role includes managing people, coordinating work schedules, monitoring KPIs, and ensuring safe and efficient operations. Supervisors are expected to maintain high standards of quality, safety, and customer service in a climate‑controlled production environment with advanced networking and secure remote access.
Job Responsibilities- Identify and deploy the technical skill sets, resource levels, and systems to deliver projects, including external resources as required.
- Ensure that the operational staff is qualified and adequately trained.
- Research customer impacting issues to provide root cause and corrective actions.
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to escalated issue resolution and share production status.
- Facilitate a fair and effective hiring process.
- Execute on customer‑driven requirements.
- Lead and develop a team of full‑time and subcontractor associates, motivating, mentoring, and coaching them within WWT’s Integrated Management Principles and Core Values.
- Conduct leadership activities such as One‑On‑Ones, Employee Reviews, etc.
- Evaluate team performance and provide feedback.
- Engage the team during each shift to maintain safety, quality, and attendance performance.
- Promote trust and HPT through coaching, appreciation, and recognition.
- Proactively plan for upcoming production work.
- Exert sound judgment in ensuring SLA’s and KPI targets are met by monitoring daily, weekly, and monthly production goals.
- Engage in enabling policy, process, Standards, and Governance.
- Address operational and personnel issues affecting the functional area.
- Manage escalations from Team & Customers.
- Drive collaborative activities with operations, logistics, and support teams to scale and standardize efficiency.
- Work with support staff to secure resources for projects and initiatives.
- Share best practices across all shifts and departments.
- Lead training and integration for the team, inspiring forward progress.
- Leverage peers and associates to source and nurture ideas for improvement plans.
- Participate in recruitment activities for the team.
- Associate degree, bachelor’s degree, or relevant work experience.
- 3+ years of experience supervising a medium‑size team (15–25 direct reports).
- Basic understanding of LEAN methodology and concepts is preferred.
- Overall planning and execution of enhancing quality and customer service.
- Ability to produce progress reports.
- Active listening; confirms understanding of content, non‑verbal cues, and underlying messages.
- Shows concern for accuracy and thoroughness, ensuring detailed information is logged correctly.
- Knowledge of ordering, shipping, and warehousing processes that support production and demand satisfaction.
- Continuously seeks ways to improve processes for smoother and faster operation.
- Understands and assembles products according to technical documentation, ensuring quality and functional standards are met.
- Manages time effectively to accomplish work, projects, and goals.
- Diagnoses problems, determines resolutions, and implements effective solutions.
- Assumes assignment of work for specific WWT customers and ensures compliance with background check and drug‑testing requirements as needed.
