Position:Sr. Project Engineer (Transportation Project Manager)
Location:
Effingham, IL
Sr. Project Engineer:
Provide project and client management support for transportation projects, including roadway and highway design and engineering analysis. Serve as the designated client contact and collaborate with interdisciplinary teams while ensuring on‑time project completion.
- Serve as project manager with autonomy for project‑related tasks and as a designated client contact; may manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Maintain project schedules and ensure timely completion of projects.
- Coordinate estimating, scoping, and marketing strategies for proposed projects.
- Prepare engineering agreements for projects.
- Provide street and highway design engineering analysis and computations and act as Engineer of Record on some projects.
- Prepare or modify reports, specifications, plans, studies, permits, and designs for various projects.
- Delegate and/or supervise the work of other engineer’s activities.
- Support business development efforts, attend client meetings, and make presentations in support of clients and projects.
- Visit construction sites to monitor progress and perform duties per contract documents.
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited Civil, Transportation, or Traffic Engineer program.
- 8–20 years of transportation or traffic engineering experience.
- Experience with IDOT or local agency IL projects required.
- Licensed IL Professional Engineer (PE).
- Ability to manage and collaborate with engineers, technicians, clients, and administrators.
- Ability to contribute to several projects simultaneously.
- Preferred working experience with Microsoft Office, Micro Station, and ORD.

$105,000 – $125,000 (salary determined by education, experience, skill set and internal equity).
