• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Proven experience in patient collections, medical billing, or a related field.
• Strong knowledge of medical billing processes and insurance terminology.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Proficiency with billing software and Microsoft Office applications.

• Associate degree or higher in healthcare administration, business, or related field.
• Experience working with electronic health records (EHR) systems.
• Familiarity with HIPAA regulations and compliance standards.
• Customer service experience in a healthcare setting.
• Certification in medical billing or coding.

• Contact patients via phone, email, or mail to discuss outstanding balances and payment options.
• Verify patient insurance coverage and update account information accordingly.
• Negotiate payment plans and document all communications and agreements accurately in the billing system.
• Collaborate with internal departments to resolve billing discrepancies and insurance denials.
• Maintain compliance with healthcare regulations and company policies related to patient privacy and collections.
