Salary: $60,

The Sous Chef is based out of South/South Central, IL and will travel 100% of the time

Region: this Sous Chef supports 9 different healthcare accounts in Southern IL and potentially 4 in Northeastern WI

Schedule:

Based on business needs - shifts between 6a and 6p, primarily M - F

Traveling/Regional Sous Chef

We are seeking a talented and dedicated Sous Chef to join our dynamic team, supporting our healthcare clients in the Southern Illinois region. In this role, you will work closely with our Head Chefs and Directors of Dining to create exceptional dishes, maintain high standards of food quality, and ensure smooth kitchen operations. You will also help train our already amazing associates, assist with catering functions and support our retail cafe programs.

• 100% Regional Travel within our Southern IL market (ex: Springfield, Effingham, Mattoon, Pana, Litchfield). Occasionally assisting in Northeastern WI.
• Assists the Executive Chefs/Directors with managing food and labor cost for the accounts
• Assists the Executive Chefs/Directors with planning and creating menus
• Produces and executes catering events
• Rolls out new culinary programs in conjunction with Company marketing and culinary team

• Based in Southern IL for proximity to territory/region
• A.S. or equivalent experience
• Progressive culinary/kitchen management experience
• High volume, complex food service operations experience, preferably in healthcare or higher education
• Institutional and batch cooking experiences helpful
• Catering experience a plus
• A focus on food quality, production, sanitation, cost controls, and presentation
• Must be experienced with computers; to include Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and Power Point), Outlook, E-mail and the Internet
• Must be willing to participate in client satisfaction programs/activities
• Serv Safe certified - highly desirable
