position summary
the registered nurse (rn) is a member of the interdisciplinary team working in collaboration with physicians. The rn utilizes the nursing care process consistent with their license and/or certification, providing culturally competent care in inpatient, outpatient, and community settings. The rn oversees coordination of the interdisciplinary plan of care, ensuring consistency with the medical treatment plan.
care process- assessment – process of identifying, gathering, and organizing subjective and objective data about the patient, family, and significant other, including physical, psychosocial, spiritual, and cultural aspects.
- planning – identification of actual or potential problems and desired outcomes (goals) that result in a documented plan of care. The plan provides direction for the patient/family/significant other and the interdisciplinary team.
- intervention – specific interventions or orders implemented consistent with the plan of care and medical treatment plan.
- evaluation – determination of the effectiveness of interventions in achieving the plan of care, and conclusions regarding achievement or lack of achievement of desired outcomes. This may initiate reassessment and revisions to problems, goals, plan of care, and interventions.
employee may be required to perform limited laboratory services: patient identification, specimen collection preparation, sample processing, required quality control testing, instrument maintenance and function checks, monitoring, recording, and reporting test results to clinicians (including critical values), and maintaining competency/certification of these tasks.
licensed and registered care providers must document assessment, plan, intervention, and evaluation within the scope of practice and knowledge base. All patient care activities are administered according to standards, procedural guidelines, and organizational policy.
the rn actively supports performance improvement initiatives and leads other patient‑care team members. Through participation in educational activities, the rn assumes responsibility for continued professional and personal growth.
location specific requirements emergency room – city and satellite (hammonton)- 2 years medical/surgical and/or emergency room experience preferred.
- acls required within 6 months of hire or transfer.
- minimum of 8 contact hours of education annually in basic trauma assessment, intervention, and stabilization.
- minimum of 8 contact hours of education annually in basic stroke assessment, intervention, and nihss – to be completed by 6 months of hire and continuously maintained thereafter.
- pals or enpc attained within 12 months of hire or transfer.
- current staff required to obtain cpi by 6/30/24; new hires or transfers cpi required within 6 months of hire and continuously maintained thereafter.
- trauma experience required; 2 years preferred.
- acls, pals & atcn at time of hire.
- 2 years medical/surgical experience preferred; critical care experience preferred.
- acls required at time of hire.
- atcn required within 3 years from date of hire or transfer.
- 2 years medical/surgical experience preferred; critical care experience preferred.
