Egg Harbor, NJ (and surrounding areas shown in postings).

Assist the Head or Group Teacher to ensure the classroom meets Head Start Performance Standards and New Jersey Licensing Regulations. Provide support in educational activities, child development observation, and classroom administration.

• Assist the teacher in planning and implementing educational activities in the classroom and interact with children in a developmentally appropriate manner. Assist in developing and implementing individualized plans for children.
• Assist in observing, screening, assessing, and documenting children’s growth and development. Document observations and activities in appropriate records.
• Assist with administrative duties as delegated by the teacher and assume teacher responsibilities in their absence.
• Prepare and maintain appropriate records or reports, including daily attendance and in-kind records; submit accurate in-kind records monthly.
• Participate in weekly Center staff meetings and other requested meetings; attend trainings and workshops.
• Encourage and coordinate parent and volunteer involvement. accompany the teacher on educational Home Visits and Parent/Teacher conferences as requested; coordinate classroom volunteer program.
• Perform any other Head Start tasks as delegated by the Teacher or management.

• Must have a Child Development Associate (CDA) or enroll immediately in a CDA program or in early childhood coursework leading to an associate or bachelor degree.
• Must have a High School Diploma or G.E.D.
• Must have a car available on a daily basis.
• Ability to read and write sufficiently to maintain proper records.
