Location

Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) – William J. Hughes Technical Center, adjacent to Atlantic City International Airport, New Jersey.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support FAA E-IDS and AIMS projects.
  • Test the User Interface of the E-IDS Prototype.
  • Review FAT Test Approaches and Success Criteria.
  • Perform DR&A (Data Reduction & Analysis) Tool testing in FAA lab.
  • Conduct Virtual Channels State Transition Tests.
  • Test and analyze systems development, including integration, systems testing, probability testing, field test plans, and customer acceptance plans to maintain system credibility/viability.
  • Define, document, analyze, perform, and interpret developmental tests for new or modified products or components.
  • Document test discrepancies and author change requests as required.
  • Communicate and document issues identified during test conduct.
  • Maintain existing test processes and documentation to ensure adequate record‑keeping and knowledge‑sharing.
  • Organize and maintain baseline regression procedures for operational releases.
  • Investigate and resolve operational problems with engineering and technical personnel.
  • Support the Test Team in developing test plans, requirements traceability, procedures, development, execution, and reporting.
  • Support testing in Java and C++ development environments.
  • Formally conduct customer‑witnessed testing demonstrating system requirements and functionality.
  • Support operational patch testing, including system and adaptation changes.
  • Support aviation scenario development.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, mathematics, or related field (equivalent experience may substitute for a degree).
  • Six or more years of related experience, with FAA experience required.
  • Comfortable using software testing tools and formal testing methodologies.
  • Strong analytical, problem‑solving, communication, and writing skills.
  • Experience with scalability and performance testing.
  • Experience in aviation systems software life‑cycle environments.
  • Familiarity with Java or C++ is helpful.
  • Interpersonal skills for interacting with customers and team members.
