Minimum Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Certified Registered Central Sterile Technician certification (CRCST), Certified Endoscope Reprocessor (CER), and/or Certified Flexible Endoscope Reprocessor (CFER) required.
• BLSHCP certification required within 90 days from date of hire or transfer.

The Certified Endoscopy Technician supports the Department of Gastroenterology by providing management of the scopes and scope disinfectant equipment at each division. This position ensures that all duties related to the supply of scopes and equipment management are performed accurately, efficiently, and productively.

This position cleans, maintains, and participates in the scope disinfection process. Responsible for performing a yearly scope cleaning/disinfection competency. Ensures the working order of endoscopy equipment and supplies, reports broken equipment and expired supplies to the Lead Endoscopy Technician, and supports the endoscopy team by assisting with patient care related duties and procedures as requested.

Assists physician and registered nurse during endoscopic diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, delivering care promptly and professionally. Duties include assisting with laboratory specimens, disinfection of equipment, ensuring availability of supplies, and other support functions as given.

Supports organizational goals by providing quality customer service, participating in performance improvement efforts, and demonstrating a commitment to teamwork and cooperation.

Education:

High school diploma or equivalent required.

Licensing/Certification:
BLSHCP certification required within 90 days from date of hire or transfer
. Certified Registered Central Sterile Technician (CRCST), Certified Endoscope Reprocessor (CER), and/or Certified Flexible Endoscope Reprocessor (CFER) required. Gastric Intestinal Certification required.

Experience:

Minimum 1 year endoscopy/GI Lab experience preferred. Proficiency in Clinical Applications preferred at time of hire; incumbents within position will be trained and required to possess skill within 30‑60 days from date of hire.

Potential for exposure to hospital hazards including infectious disease, blood‑borne pathogens, hazardous waste, and injury. Physical demands include stooping, crouching, pushing equipment, excessive standing and walking. Lifting approximately 25‑30 lbs frequently; lifting 50‑100 lbs with assistance occasionally.

Pay Range: $22.38 - $33.57
