Registered Nurse Preop/PACU – Center for Orthopedic Surgery – Per Diem

Experience delivering patient care across all phases of surgical care, providing exceptional support to patients and families and supporting the healthcare team with necessary equipment and supplies in the Pre‑Op and PACU areas.

The Perioperative Nurse is responsible for providing exceptional patient care and family support throughout the three phases of the surgical experience. This position assists physician members of the healthcare team with the equipment, supplies and support in the Pre‑Op and PACU areas. It also supports organizational goals by providing quality customer service, participating in performance improvement efforts, and demonstrating a commitment to teamwork and cooperation.

Education – Graduate of an accredited school of nursing;
Bachelor's in nursing preferred. Current licensure as Registered Nurse in the State of New Jersey required. BLS required. ACLS required.

Experience – Ability to effectively communicate with others and adjust to changes within the daily schedule of activities required. Prior Ambulatory Surgery Center experience preferred. Proficiency in Clinical Applications preferred at time of hire; skill will be required within 30‑60 days from date of hire.

Advanced Certification required. Preferred certifications include:

• PALS required within 6 months from date of hire or transfer; required if ASC pediatric population.
• ASPAN preferred.
• Certified Perianesthesia Ambulatory Nurse (CPAN).
• Certified Ambulatory Perianesthesia Nurse (CAPN).

1–3 years of Critical Care experience preferred.

Potential exposure to hazards and risk of a hospital environment, blood borne pathogens, and infectious disease. Exposure to hazardous substances, injury risk. The position requires standing for long periods, occasional lifting up to 20 pounds, and quick walking over short distances.

This position reports to department leadership.
