As the Security Officer, you will ensure that all individuals entering the Community Bank of New Jersey are warmly greeted and are assisted accordingly. You will plan, direct, and coordinate activities relating to the protecting, safeguarding, and security of company assets, team members, and the public. The hours for this role are part-time:
Tuesday:11:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.,
Friday:11:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.,
Saturday:7:00 a.m. – close (approximately 1:00–2:00 p.m.).

What you’ll do in your role:
  • Security & Safety Responsibilities:
    • Recommend and support the implementation of effective security procedures and best practices, while identifying and resolving security-related issues.
    • Conduct physical security checks of the premises, including inspection of doors, windows, gates, and surveillance systems to ensure the facility is secure.
    • Monitor property and observe crowd activity to identify and report suspicious behavior to local authorities.
    • Perform regular patrols of assigned areas and document any unusual or suspicious activity.
    • Assist in preparing detailed reports for internal investigations related to losses, violations of CFBNJ regulations, or breaches of policy.
    • Support emergency preparedness efforts, including the development and execution of contingency plans.
    • Address personnel-related security concerns, including procedures for employee terminations, policy violations, theft, and workplace violence.
    • Provide evening/late night security coverage of the building during special events and committee meetings, monthly as needed.
  • Reception & Administrative Duties:
    • Perform front desk responsibilities, including receiving and sorting mail, processing cash/check and food donations, maintaining visitor logs, and assisting visitors with sign-in procedures.
    • Direct volunteers and visitors, and notify staff of package and food deliveries.
    • Provide accurate information to community members seeking food assistance.
  • Emergency & Incident Response:
    • Contact emergency services such as law enforcement or fire departments when necessary.
    • Investigate and respond to reports of suspicious activity on the premises.
    • When appropriate, detain individuals suspected of criminal activity until law enforcement arrives.
    • Escort terminated employees, trespassers, or other unauthorized individuals off the property to ensure safety and compliance.

What you’ll need to be successful in this role:
  • High school diploma or equivalent with a security guard training certification preferred.
  • At least two years of customer service experience required; administrative and/or office reception experience required
  • At least three years in a security officer position in a public environment, preferred
