About Royal Holloway Business School

As an AACSB accredited Business School, we are driven by social purpose. We are committed to inspiring and empowering students and staff to realise their full potential and to make positive change. Royal Holloway Business School is a leader in progressive education.

This is an exciting time to join us as we are looking to build on our current successes, our heritage and our strategic location, to become a leading School nationally and globally by investing in all areas of activity. We offer programmes at the undergraduate and postgraduate levels, both nationally (from our Surrey and Central London campuses) and internationally through our global partnerships with the University of London.

We aim to provide an outstanding student experience, which teaches the skills needed to join leading organisations or set up new businesses.

The Candidate

RHBS invites applications for the position of Associate Professor (Teaching Focus) with expertise in Marketing. This is an excellent opportunity for you to contribute to practice-focused teaching in our business school, strengthening our capacity to enhance student employability skills, and bridging our education with industry needs.

You will primarily deliver high-quality, practice-focused teaching across our accelerated undergraduate degree, with opportunities to teach on other undergraduate, postgraduate and executive education courses. You will be pivotal in leading the design of new practice-oriented modules on our new flagship degree, acting as a connector to industry and practice with London’s business community. You will need to excel in supporting learners from diverse backgrounds, maintaining high-contact teaching, delivering regular formative feedback, while supporting student success in a fast-paced environment.

You do not need to hold a PhD, but will need to demonstrate how your extensive professional career experience in Marketing, across senior roles, can be translated to enhancing student employability skills. As a successful professional who has previously led and mentored colleagues, it is not expected that you will necessarily have a track record of university-level teaching, but any prior relevant teaching, training and/or coaching experience would be valuable, along with professional accreditations and membership of industry associations and networks.

RHBS is committed to innovative, high-quality, practice-focused teaching that equips students with the employability skills and professional knowledge to excel in their careers: graduates resilient to challenges and poised to capture new opportunities. You will relish the opportunity to inspire and mentor students into becoming the leaders of tomorrow.

We are strongly committed to the development of our staff and provide a supportive environment to enhance teaching, scholarship, and leadership skills.

  • Deliver high-quality, practice-focused teaching across undergraduate and postgraduate programmes and executive education.
  • Lead the design of new practice-oriented modules on the flagship degree and connect with industry and the London business community.

  • Collaborate with colleagues to enhance employability skills and professional knowledge in graduates.
Qualifications and Experience
  • Extensive professional career experience in Marketing, across senior roles.
  • Ability to translate industry experience into student employability development.
  • Teaching experience is valuable but not essential; prior teaching, training, and/or coaching experience and memberships in relevant professional networks are welcome.
  • PhD is not required for this role.
Rewards and Benefits
  • Generous annual leave entitlement
  • Training and Development opportunities
  • Pension Scheme with generous employer contribution
  • Cycle to Work, Season Ticket Loans and help with the cost of Eyesight testing
