Position: Lecturer in Property Law (Teaching Focus)

Full-Time, Permanent

Applications are invited for the post of Lecturer in Property Law (Teaching Focus) in the Department of Law and Criminology.

The Department of Law and Criminology is part of the Faculty of Business and Law. It is a forward thinking, inter-disciplinary and research active department, which offers undergraduate programmes in Law (LLB), Criminology & Psychology, Criminology & Sociology and Social Sciences; together with Masters programmes in Social Work, Forensic Psychology, and Terrorism and Counter‑Terrorism Studies. The Department is also home to an energetic research community and prides itself on its commitment to social justice which is underlined in its teaching, research, and external activities.

We seek an outstanding teaching focus Lecturer in Property Law to join our dynamic and multidisciplinary team. The Lecturer in Property Law post is offered on the teaching focus track, which requires colleagues to engage in pedagogic and scholarship activities, defined by the University as ‘[t]he systematic study of the processes and outcomes of teaching, learning and assessment in such a way that it advances teaching and can be shared with others, as well as applied to teaching and learning contexts.

It also includes keeping up with the scholarship of others.’ The Department is home to the Scholarship Research Cluster, which aims to provide evidence-based research to advance knowledge and learning about education and the policy environment for education.

Responsibilities

The position will involve teaching undergraduate core subjects on our LLB Course and we are interested in candidates with teaching expertise in Property Law, and particularly in Equity and Trusts and/or Land Law. Experience in other core or popular optional modules is desirable.
