Lead Software Engineer

Package: £70,000 to £80,000 + Bonus & Benefits

Hybrid:
Two days a week in office.

A client of ours needs a Lead .NET Developer to join an established software business with a mature product and a strong engineering culture.

This is a genuine lead role with real influence over architecture, code quality, and team direction, not a re-badged senior position.

You’ll work alongside the Head of Development, CTO, and other Dev Leads designing, building, and shipping features across a mature Azure-based platform. Alongside hands‑on development, you’ll lead on technical decisions, run code reviews, mentor the team, and own technical risk across the product. Expect to be the person the team looks to when something architectural needs a call.

• Strong .NET background – ASP.NET C#, .NET Core, Visual Studio.
• Azure cloud experience across scalability, security, and performance.
• Microservices and event‑driven architecture.
• SQL databases, comfortable writing ad‑hoc queries when needed.
• Web stack – MVC, Web APIs, REST, JSON/XML services.
• gRPC, Docker, and Azure Service Bus.
• Source control with Git and Git Flow, unit and integration testing as a default.
• Comfortable leading technical conversations and mentoring developers.
