Assistant-Associate Professor in Biomechanics of Regenerative Implants

Job DescriptionAs an assistant/associate professor, you will establish a new research direction in Regenerative Engineering & Materials (REM), focusing on biomechanics of regenerative implants, with a preference for hard tissues. Your research should complement the existing focus within the REM cluster and the Biomedical Engineering department, incorporating expertise in computational biomechanics and preferably data‑driven and hybrid modeling approaches. You will lead in attracting funding, building collaborations within the cluster, department, TU/e and internationally, and develop, teach and improve courses for BSc, MSc and PhD programs.
You will supervise and mentor students and conduct research in shared laboratories and computational facilities.
- PhD in biomedical engineering, mechanical engineering or a related field with a keen interest in biomechanics and regenerative medicine.
- Distinguished record of academic achievements, reflected in high‑quality, impactful publications, research‑based products, patents or other outputs.
- Ability to secure external research funding.
- Vision on teaching and learning within your discipline, and a willingness to contribute to the teaching program of the cluster.
- Strong teamwork and interdisciplinary collaboration skills.
- Effective communication, leadership, and coaching/mentoring experience.
- Excellent proficiency in English and preferably Dutch.
- Commitment to the university’s gender balance and diversity goals.

- Salary in accordance with the Collective Labour Agreement for Dutch Universities.
- Year‑end bonus of 8.3 % and annual vacation pay of 8 %.
