Senior Mechanical System Design Engineer

In this role, you are responsible for translating customer needs into system-level mechanical and mechatronic concepts within complex multidisciplinary environments. You support the system architect in defining requirements and take a leading role in developing, analyzing, and executing technical work packages. You also lead multidisciplinary teams of engineers and designers, ensuring technical coherence, risk mitigation, and successful project execution.

Responsibilities

Support the system architect in deriving system requirements from customer needs.

Translate system requirements into mechanical and mechatronic concepts and designs.

Perform mechanical calculations and analyses, including strength, stiffness, and design optimization.

Apply and utilize FEM and other engineering tools for system analysis and validation.

Define and execute technical work packages, including effort and complexity estimation.

Develop and maintain Work Breakdown Structures (WBS) for engineering activities.

Lead and coordinate multidisciplinary teams of designers and engineers.

Organize, delegate, and monitor technical work to ensure successful delivery.

Identify technical risks and define effective mitigation strategies.

Drive synergy and integration between different engineering disciplines within projects.

Ensure alignment between mechanical design and overall system architecture.

Take ownership of larger and more complex technical scopes, including stakeholder management.

What you bring

Master’s or PhD degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechanics, or Mechatronics.

At least 10 years of experience in mechatronic systems and precision mechanics.

Strong analytical and conceptual thinking skills.

Extensive experience with engineering tools and methods such as FEM, MATLAB, or similar simulation tools.

Strong creativity in developing innovative multidisciplinary solutions.

Ability to combine analytical rigor with a pragmatic engineering approach.

Solid knowledge of Design for Manufacturability, Assembly, Cost, and Reliability principles.

Strong leadership skills with experience leading multidisciplinary engineering teams.

Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
