Optical Lead Engineer

Do you want to build the most advanced optical modules for the high-tech industry? As an Optical Lead Engineer, you will translate complex customer requirements into groundbreaking designs and test your own prototypes in the lab.

In this role, you will directly contribute to the success of multidisciplinary projects. Together with the System Architect and a team of specialists, you will bring high-tech innovations to life for leading OEM clients.

• You develop and design high-tech optical modules and systems for various market segments.
• You translate customer requirements into concrete, realizable concepts.
• You set up and carry out feasibility tests in the optical laboratory and validate the prototypes.
• You generate optical layouts, simulations, and custom lens designs in Zemax.

You are successful if:

• You hold a Master’s degree or PhD in (Applied) Physics or a similar technical field.
• You bring at least 7 years of experience in optical design and simulations within the high-tech machinery industry.
• You have demonstrable experience with designing and simulating in Zemax.
• You have hands‑on experience setting up test arrangements and aligning optical systems.

  You interact effortlessly at a high analytical level with both internal project teams and external customers.

  You look beyond conventional boundaries to find innovative solutions for challenging client requirements.

  You maintain an overview of the larger picture without losing your eye for detail.

As an interim professional, you will be employed by Randstad Professional and work on challenging projects at our clients. We offer you a contract for the duration of the project, or directly a permanent contract for an indefinite period.
