Application Engineer - Laser Welding​/Cutting

Product & Production Expert – Application Engineer (Laser Welding & Cutting)  Frencken is a global integrated technology solutions company. In this role the Application Engineer ensures production processes run flawlessly, quality remains uncompromised and new technologies are successfully brought to life.

Key Responsibilities   Diagnose and troubleshoot production issues such as test failures and quality rejects.
Collaborate closely with manufacturing engineering to develop and implement programs and processes for NPI projects.
Take over projects during their prototype phase.
Maintain and continuously improve process and manufacturing documentation.
Create and maintain production, assembly, and test instructions.
Review and validate tooling designed by the engineering department.
Program and design manufacturing processes on Trumpf and Mazak machines.
Update process documentation including PFMEA, ERP routing, cosine instructions, machine data, tooling data, packaging instructions, and specifications.
Review and update floor layout, VSM, people flow, material flow, and waste flow.
Act as second‑line support on production issues.
Analyze calculated lead time (VC) and actual lead time (NC).
Qualifications & Experience   Strong problem‑solving skills and familiarity with Lean Six Sigma and lean manufacturing principles (Green or Black belt is a plus).
Knowledge of different problem‑solving methodologies.
Prior experience in a production environment with high‑tech products and complex assembly processes.
Minimum of 3 years in a similar role, with strong customer liaison experience.
Completed (minimum) HBO education in Mechatronics or Mechanical Engineering.
Proficient in English (spoken and written);
Dutch is an advantage.
Ability to cope with multiple requests simultaneously while prioritizing according to company goals.
Emotional intelligence and critical thinking abilities.
Main KPIs   Work instructions updated on time.
Process documentation maintained up to date.
NC/VC ratio ≤ 95%.
CCB completion on time.
