As a Supplier Quality Engineer Electronics , you will safeguard and continuously improve the quality of electronic components, modules, and assemblies supplied by external vendors. Acting as the vital link between Engineering, Purchasing, Manufacturing, and suppliers, you will play a key role throughout both New Product Introduction (NPI) projects and serial production.
The SQE position is part of the Purchasing Department , specifically within the Electronic Assemblies and Motion Control Category Management Team .
Key Responsibilities
Implement and safeguard quality requirements for suppliers of electronic components and assemblies.
Support suppliers throughout NPI projects, from design review through to qualification and release for serial production.
Prepare and review quality documentation, including:
Product and Process FMEAs
Control Plans
Process Flow Charts
CTQs (Critical to Quality characteristics)
Measurement plans
Evaluate product design and manufacturability (DfX) of electronic products.
Monitor supplier performance in terms of quality and delivery reliability and initiate improvement actions where required.
Conduct and facilitate process and system audits at supplier locations.
Analyze non-conformities and customer complaints using root cause analysis methodologies and ensure sustainable corrective actions are implemented.
Qualify and approve new suppliers in close cooperation with the Purchasing department.
Actively participate in multidisciplinary teams involving Engineering, Purchasing and Manufacturing.
Qualifications
Bachelor's or Master's degree in a technical discipline, such as Electrical Engineering, Electronics, Physics, Applied Physics, Chemistry, or Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent experience and competence.
Experience with industrial manufacturing and engineering projects, preferably within the high‑tech equipment industry (semiconductor, solar, medical, or analytical systems).
Knowledge of manufacturing processes, measurement systems, and control systems.
Experience with process control in manufacturing environments and conducting process audits.
Hands‑on experience with Process Flows, Product and Process FMEA, Control Plans, Issue Lists, CTQs, SPC, SOC, and PER methodologies.
Broad knowledge and understanding of a wide range of manufacturing processes, particularly those relevant to electronic components and assemblies.
Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills, with a structured approach to quality improvement and supplier development.
Experience working in a multidisciplinary and international environment is considered an advantage.
You are a hands‑on team player with a strong drive to achieve results. You communicate effectively at all levels of an organization and are fluent in both Dutch and English. You are persuasive in both verbal and written communication, work accurately, think analytically, remain flexible under pressure, and tackle challenges with energy, determination, and persistence.
