Director of Mechanical Engineering

Overview  We are seeking a Mechanical Engineering Director to join a high-growth technology company in Eindhoven. The Mechanical Engineering Director will play a key role in leading the mechanical design and development of advanced printing instrumentation, driving innovation across product platforms and ensuring robust engineering processes as the company scales.
This is a senior leadership position, responsible for managing and mentoring a multidisciplinary team, while remaining hands-on in design when needed. You will oversee full lifecycle mechanical development, from concept and prototyping through to production, with a strong emphasis on precision instrumentation, system integration, and manufacturability. This role is based in Eindhoven and offers the opportunity to help shape the engineering function of a pioneering technology company at a key stage of growth.
Responsibilities   Lead mechanical design and development of advanced printing instrumentation, driving innovation across product platforms and ensuring robust engineering processes as the company scales.
Manage and mentor a multidisciplinary team, while remaining hands-on in design when needed.
Oversee full lifecycle mechanical development from concept and prototyping through to production, with emphasis on precision instrumentation, system integration, and manufacturability.
Qualifications   Proven leadership experience in mechanical engineering, ideally at Director or Manager level
Background in printing systems, instrumentation, or related precision electromechanical products
Strong knowledge of materials, tolerance analysis, and high-accuracy mechanisms
Experience managing suppliers and external partners
A collaborative mindset and ability to thrive in a fast-moving, innovative environment
