SCIL Nanoimprint Solutions, a Philips spin-out based on the High Tech Campus in Eindhoven, is pioneering nanoimprint lithography technology for leading global technology companies. As our customer base continues to grow across Europe, Asia, and North America, we're looking for a Field Service Engineer to become the technical backbone of our service organisation and help shape how we support customers worldwide.

Your mission  As their new Field Service Engineer, you'll take ownership of service and support activities across SCIL's growing install base. You'll become the trusted technical expert responsible for ensuring our systems perform to the highest standards, whether in our Eindhoven facilities or at customer sites around the world.
Here's how you'll make that happen:
Own Customer Support:  Act as the primary point of contact for service and support activities, ensuring customer issues are resolved efficiently and professionally.
Deliver World-Class Service:  Maintain, repair, upgrade, and install SCIL systems both internally and at customer locations across the globe.
Troubleshoot Complex Systems:  Diagnose and resolve issues across mechanical, electronic, pneumatic, and software systems, collaborating with specialist colleagues when required.
Drive Equipment Reliability:  Perform planned and corrective maintenance activities with exceptional attention to detail, ensuring maximum system uptime and performance.
Lead Installations and Upgrades:  Take ownership of system installations, upgrades, and site acceptance testing, ensuring equipment meets SCIL's demanding quality standards.
Develop Service Excellence:  Create, maintain, and improve service documentation, maintenance procedures, troubleshooting guides, and technical reference materials.
Manage Service Operations:  Take ownership of the ticketing system, ensuring all service activities, actions, and follow-ups are accurately documented and tracked.
Support Internal Development:  Assist with assembly, testing, and integration of sub-modules and hardware within SCIL's internal engineering and development projects.
Share Knowledge and Improve Processes:  Work closely with engineering, software, and R&D teams to identify opportunities for improvement and enhance overall service capability.
Help Build the Future:  Play a key role in developing and scaling SCIL's global service function as the business continues to expand internationally.
Business Travel:  Travel to customer sites across Europe, the United States, and Asia for installations, upgrades, maintenance, and technical support activities. Travel is expected to increase gradually as the customer base grows and could reach up to 40% over time.
Your expertise and qualities  We're looking for someone who combines strong hands-on engineering skills with a customer-focused mindset and a passion for solving complex technical challenges.
Educational foundation:  Degree, HNC/HND, apprenticeship, or equivalent technical qualification in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Electronics, Physics, or a related discipline.
Field service experience:  Proven experience installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, or repairing complex capital equipment in a customer-facing environment.
Electro-mechanical expertise:  Comfortable working across mechanical, electrical, electronic, pneumatic, and software-controlled systems.
Problem-solving mindset:  Able to systematically diagnose technical issues, identify root causes, and implement effective solutions.
Technical curiosity:  Excited by advanced technology and motivated by working with highly sophisticated precision equipment.
Customer-focused approach:  Understand the importance of professionalism, responsiveness, and communication when supporting customers.
Documentation discipline:  Comfortable documenting service activities, maintenance records, and technical procedures accurately and consistently.
