Lion Volt is a deep-tech startup working on a revolutionary battery using a 3D anode architecture that will boost battery performance and make an important contribution to achieving global net zero goals. A step change in battery performance is in high demand across our application markets, and our architecture boosts energy density and charging rates without compromising safety or lifetime. Our multinational, highly diverse team comprises 50+ people across multiple locations.

Our innovation centre is based at the High Tech Campus in Eindhoven, a leading European innovation hub, and we also operate a cell manufacturing facility in Scotland. In addition, we have recently opened a new production line for 3D anodes at the Brainport Industries Campus (BIC) in Eindhoven, further expanding our manufacturing capacity and giving us everything we need to realise our innovation.

As an enthusiastic Lab Manager with experience working in a materials or chemical laboratory environment, you will strengthen our 3D solid-state Battery team in Eindhoven.

• Managing the labs of Lion Volt, ensuring its continued operation
• Promoting a safe working environment in the role of Safety & Prevention Officer by advising on safety measures, conducting risk assessments, and enforcing preventative measures
• Ordering of chemicals, lab consumables and new lab equipment
• Organizing proper storage and disposal of used lab chemicals/consumables
• Supervision of maintenance, repair, and calibration of lab equipment
• Coordination with operators, process engineering regarding standard laboratory task

• MBO4 / Bachelor’s degree in chemistry, materials science, chemical engineering, or related field.
• Min 2 years of management experience in a chemical lab similar environment
• Experience in occupational health and safety
• Having experience with electrochemistry/batteries will be a plus
• Able to apply a critical view on new and existing processes
• You are currently located in the Netherlands and can converse well in Dutch & English
