Senior Mechanical Design Engineer

MCA Engineering Netherlands is an ambitious and fast-growing high-tech engineering and consulting organization. Originally French, but now operating in Europe, the secondment of engineers and IT specialists focuses on the design and implementation of innovative systems for large-scale industrial projects. The NL office is located in Eindhoven, but the ambition is to open multiple locations in the Netherlands. The company is characterized by a 'can-do' mentality, in which responsibilities lie low in the organization and 'accountability for results' is a natural consequence.

Context
In this role, you will design and develop mechanical solutions within complex mechatronic systems. You will translate functional specifications into innovative and manufacturable design concepts, working closely with architects, system designers, and engineering teams. As a senior designer, you will take ownership of larger technical scopes and provide technical leadership within the mechanical domain.

Your Responsibilities

Translate system and product requirements into mechanical design concepts and solutions.

Act as a sparring partner to architects and system engineers during design development.

Perform hand calculations, tolerance analysis, and define critical-to-quality dimensions.

Develop and maintain detailed 3D CAD models and 2D manufacturing drawings.

Visualize and communicate mechanical design concepts in 3D.

Ensure designs meet requirements for performance, manufacturability, assembly, testing, and serviceability.

Apply Design for Excellence (DFX), including cost, manufacturability, assembly, and serviceability.

Collaborate with suppliers on manufacturability, component availability, and use of vendor parts.

Work within multidisciplinary teams to support overall product development.

Take ownership of larger and more complex mechanical design challenges.

Provide technical leadership and guidance to engineers and junior designers in the mechanical domain.

What You Bring to the Table

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or Electro-mechanics.

At least 10 years of experience in the design of mechatronic and precision systems.

Creativity and strong capability to develop design solutions based on multidisciplinary requirements.

Excellent knowledge and experience with Design for Excellence (DFX: cost, manufacturability, assembly, serviceability, etc.).

Strong communication skills and ability to coach and guide other engineers and junior designers.
