Trinamics is looking for a Senior Automotive Mechatronics Engineer Aftertreatment who wants to contribute to the development of next-generation vehicle technologies. In this role, you will work on advanced aftertreatment systems that are essential for meeting future emission regulations, performance requirements and sustainability goals within the automotive industry.
You will be part of a multidisciplinary engineering team responsible for the development, integration and optimization of complex aftertreatment components and systems for heavy‑duty vehicles. The role combines mechanical engineering, mechatronics, electronics, controls and software, requiring close cooperation with specialists from different engineering disciplines.
As a Senior Automotive Mechatronics Engineer Aftertreatment, you will take ownership of technical development activities throughout the product lifecycle, from concept and design phases to validation, industrialization and production support. Your contribution will directly impact the reliability, efficiency and environmental performance of future vehicles.
Your responsibilities Lead and coordinate automotive development activities for advanced aftertreatment components and systems
Work closely with mechanical, electrical, software and system engineers to ensure successful integration into vehicle platforms
Translate vehicle requirements, emission targets and project objectives into clear technical specifications
Collaborate with suppliers on component development, design improvements, testing and validation activities
Support the development of systems such as exhaust aftertreatment solutions, emission control technologies and related vehicle hardware
Drive structured problem solving using Six Sigma and DMAIC methodologies to improve product performance and reliability
Coordinate validation activities, including component testing, system verification and release processes
Participate in and lead Simultaneous Engineering Teams with internal stakeholders and external partners
Analyze test results, development data and field performance to identify improvements and provide technical recommendations
Ensure developed components meet automotive requirements related to emissions, durability, reliability, quality, robustness and manufacturability
Support continuous improvement of existing products and contribute to the development of future vehicle technologies
Your profile Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechatronics, Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering or a related technical discipline
At least three years of experience in automotive product development, preferably within vehicle systems, powertrain or emission‑related technologies
Experience with complex automotive systems that combine mechanical components, electronics, sensors, controls and software
Knowledge of automotive development processes, validation methods and supplier collaboration
Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills with a structured and hands‑on approach
Experience working in multidisciplinary engineering teams within an international environment
Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
Able to manage multiple technical projects and priorities in a structured way
Fluent English communication skills are required. The willingness to learn Dutch is appreciated
